Compare and contrast: Synagogue leader vs. a woman with no name

Orange highlight:

Jairus "saw" Jesus.

The woman "heard" about Jesus.

Blue highlight:

Jairus' asks for his "daughter" to be healed.

Jesus calls the unnamed woman "daughter."

Red highlight:

Both Jairus and the woman expect to be healed on contact with Jesus.

Yellow highlight:

The woman is healed in public.

Jairus' daughter is healed in private.

Green highlight:

The woman had been bleeding for "twelve years".

Jairus' daughter was "twelve years old."

Blue underline:

Both the woman and Jairus fall at Jesus' feet.

Red underline:

Jairus' daughter and the woman are healed "immediately."

Black underline:

In both situations, Jesus asks interesting questions! ;-)

Last but NOT LEAST - the stark contrast between social classes - Jairus is an elite male, but she is an unclean, unnamed woman who, according to Jewish law, shouldn't be "touching" anyone!
