Compare and Contrast: James & John vs. Bartimaeus

The text below is taken from Mark Chapter 10.

Green highlight: The disciples are "asking" / Bartimaeus is "begging"

Blue highlight: The disciples address Jesus as "teacher" / Bartimaeus addresses Jesus as both "rabbi" and Messiah/King (Son of David).

Red highlight: The disciples want glory. / Bartimaeus wants to see.

Orange highlight: Jesus asks the same question to both the disciples and to Bartimaeus.

Yellow highlight: Jesus calls the disciples and calls Bartimaeus.

Red underline: The disciples want to sit and the right and left of Jesus. / Bartimaeus is sitting on the roadside, waiting to follow Jesus.

Black underline: The disciples are sons of Zebedee. / Bartimaeus is the son of Timaeus. Do these names mean something?

Blue underline: Bartimaeus is an example of how to display FAITH when in JERICHO: SHOUT!
